About The Position

Zebra’s 2027 Summer Internship is designed to prepare students for entry into the business world by providing an understanding of the functions of the organization and insight into a career with Zebra. Interns receive training and hands-on experience, participate in social and professional development activities, and have a professional mentor. The Software Engineer intern will work with the System Test team, which validates the quality, reliability, and customer readiness of Zebra products and software releases. The team develops test strategies, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve test coverage, traceability, execution accuracy, and visibility into release risks. The intern will prototype an AI Test Case-to-Automation Validation Assistant. The prototype will compare Polarion test cases with corresponding automation scripts, identify potential gaps for engineer review, and report matched items and potential issues. The intern will refine and demonstrate the prototype using representative test-case and script pairs, measure its agreement with engineer-reviewed findings and its effect on manual review time, and document assumptions, limitations, and setup instructions. This position requires hybrid work, with three days per week in the Holtsville, New York office. The hourly salary range is $29.00–$33.00. Zebra describes its Total Rewards program as including healthcare, wellness, inclusion networks, continued learning and development, community service days, traditional insurance, parental leave, an employee assistance program, and paid time off, depending on country. Roles are also eligible for cash incentive programs; some may be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
