About The Position

Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas, located in Point Comfort, Texas (jobsite), is looking for a full-time Software Engineer. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science, along with 2 years of related work experience. The engineer will be responsible for the design, testing, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of the distributed control system. Key tasks include modifying software using FProcess for process control and optimization, performing simulated testing, integrating programmable logic controller functions, developing and implementing process control strategies, upgrading cybersecurity, developing software for integration with package equipment, and designing/implementing direct IO interface assignments and human machine interface programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 2 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing, testing, installing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning the distributed control system.
• Modifying the software of the distributed control system using FProcess to control and optimize the process of the plant.
• Performing simulated testing of the distributed control system.
• Integrating programmable logic controller function into the distributed control system.
• Developing and implementing process control for the distributed control system.
• Upgrading the cybersecurity of the distributed control system.
• Developing software to integrate the distributed control system with package equipment.
• Designing, testing, and implementing direct IO interface assignment.
• Developing and implementing human machine interface program for system control.
