About The Position

Join Walmart Global Tech working on Sam's Club as a Senior Software Engineer to lead the delivery of scalable software solutions through collaborative engineering efforts. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality code across multiple languages while integrating AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, technical leadership, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and maintainable software systems that support Walmart’s strategic goals. This role is NOT eligible for immigration. The team develops personalized products to enhance member engagement and support renewals by delivering scoped features and models through collaborative engineering. It emphasizes clean, efficient code and continuous development practices while integrating advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning to drive innovation. Team members work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, maintaining high standards for quality, scalability, and reliability. The team promotes technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem solving to achieve impactful outcomes aligned with broader platform goals.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in code review, debugging, and continuous development.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features through iterative and incremental development.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
  • Skilled in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with platform and business objectives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive problem solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software intelligence and development velocity.
  • Assist in translating high-level designs into detailed technical solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to uphold software quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics aligned with business goals.
  • Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement through proactive testing and observability.
  • Mentor peers.
