About The Position

Skillable is hiring a Software Engineer to own complex software features in a cross-functional agile product team. The engineer will use AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery while maintaining engineering rigor, directing AI agents through implementation and acting as the primary architect, reviewer, and decision-maker. The role includes developing and validating maintainable, scalable software; establishing automated testing and quality checks; reviewing AI-generated work; and mitigating risks related to security, correctness, maintainability, and sustainability. The engineer will collaborate with developers, QA engineers, designers, and product experts; contribute to feature scoping and estimation; handle ambiguity by identifying gaps and proposing solutions; document technical decisions and application features; and uphold quality and non-functional standards. Participation in an on-call rotation is required, including evenings, weekends, or holidays for emergency support or special events. The position is fully remote in a home-office setting, with periodic travel of up to approximately 10%. Skillable can hire only candidates whose primary residence is in the states listed in the posting.
