The Software Engineer is a mid-level contributor responsible for gathering requirements, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting one or more company applications for various subsidiaries, transforming business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions across the full stack and DevSecOps lifecycle. This role involves delivering moderately complex features and epics end-to-end, decomposing work, estimating, and planning for yourself and small pods while translating business goals into scalable, performant features that drive outcomes for subsidiaries. The engineer will collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions fully leverage technology to improve business processes. They will apply engineering best practices across the full stack, authoring comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests and introducing performance and resiliency testing where appropriate. The role also includes performing and enforcing high-quality peer reviews, strengthening CI/CD pipelines and release practices, coordinating safe rollbacks, and maintaining deployment documentation. The engineer will co-lead backlog refinement, produce lightweight design specifications and API/interface contracts, apply sound design patterns, and propose improvements to reduce technical debt. They will instrument applications with logging, metrics, and traces, define and tune SLIs/SLOs, and analyze telemetry and test results for optimizations. Championing secure-by-design practices, managing dependencies, and contributing to SBOM/dependency hygiene are key. The role involves triaging and resolving second-level incidents, leading root cause analysis, improving operational runbooks, and participating in an on-call schedule. Providing high-quality support, leading technical spikes, and producing system-level documentation are also responsibilities. The engineer will contribute to the internal knowledge base, provide training, collaborate closely with product, design, QA, and operations, and mentor junior developers and interns. Deepening expertise in BRSS applications and staying current on relevant frameworks and DevSecOps practices are expected. Setting development goals and adapting to new tools and technologies are part of the role.
