Software Engineer (Go, Python, AWS and Kubernetes)
About The Position
Join Cisco’s Catalyst Center Platform team to build next-generation intelligent network management software for enterprise networks worldwide. The platform helps customers automate operations, gain AI-driven insights, and securely manage complex hybrid and cloud environments. You will work with software engineers, architects, and product leaders to build scalable distributed systems and address customer challenges. Build cloud-native services that power Cisco Catalyst Center and help customers automate enterprise network operations. Design, develop, test, and maintain distributed applications using technologies including Kubernetes, Java, Go, and Python. Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to turn customer needs into features and improve platform performance, scalability, and resiliency. Contribute to AI-assisted engineering and automation practices that improve development speed and software quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience using one or more languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Experience developing cloud-native or distributed applications using Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Experience working with Linux-based development environments.
- Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Kubernetes operators, controllers, networking, storage, or service mesh technologies.
- Full-stack development experience using Angular, React, or similar web frameworks.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helm, or Ansible.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and an interest in building high-quality software using AI-assisted engineering practices.
