About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. About the team: The Global Seller Support team develops scalable, AI-powered platforms and automation to enhance Walmart Marketplace support worldwide. Leveraging cloud-native technologies and Generative AI, the team tackles complex challenges using modern engineering practices. Focused on delivering reliable, high-impact products, it supports one of the largest eCommerce ecosystems globally. The team emphasizes continuous improvement, technical excellence, and innovation to meet evolving business and customer needs. Prioritizing quality, scalability, and performance, it drives meaningful impact across the platform while fostering collaboration and maintaining a product-driven mindset.

Requirements

Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership, delivering scalable, cloud-native architectures and reusable tooling.
Proven ability to drive full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and incident response.
Expertise in designing distributed systems optimized for real-time data processing and AI/ML integration.
Strong technical judgment with a focus on architectural decision-making and long-term system evolution.
Proficiency in AI agents, model-driven design, and cloud computing architecture.
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and fostering engineering excellence.
Effective collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

Define the technical strategy and architecture for large-scale Marketplace Support platforms.
Lead the design and implementation of AI/LLM-powered agentic workflows and intelligent automation.
Build resilient, scalable, and observable distributed systems handling millions of seller interactions.
Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, design standards, and technical mentorship.
Partner with Product, Data Science, and Operations to translate business problems into scalable platform capabilities.
Influence engineering roadmaps across multiple organizations and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
Champion platform reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable success metrics.
