About The Position

We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join one of our product teams supporting a proprietary, client-facing system. This role plays a key part in designing, building, and maintaining the technology that provides value to our clients. Partial onsite work will be required. For this reason, candidates should live in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. Apex does not offer visa sponsorship and is unable to consider candidates who will require employer-based immigration support now or at any point in the future. Candidates must have authorization that does not require sponsorship for the duration of employment. Our software engineering teams ensure that Apex delivers seamless, reliable technology to both clients and employees. As part of a dedicated product team, you’ll collaborate with product managers, business analysts, project managers, and other technical team members. Our most successful engineers are curious problem-solvers who enjoy owning features end-to-end—building scalable backend services while also contributing to intuitive, performant frontends. Requirements

3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in full-stack or backend development.
Proficient in Java and SQL.
Experience with at least one modern frontend framework or library (Svelte, React, Angular, Vue, etc.).
Experience with Git in a collaborative environment and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
Passion for learning, automation, and continual improvement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have authorization that does not require sponsorship for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with technologies such as Oracle Database, CockroachDB, Spring Boot, JBoss, JavaScript, Containers, Linux, Rancher, Ansible, and Bamboo.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications for a proprietary, client-facing platform.
Develop and optimize backend services using Java and SQL to support secure, efficient data processing.
Collaborate with product owners and operational departments to clarify requirements and deliver business-driven solutions.
Contribute to frontend components using modern frameworks (e.g., Svelte, React, Angular, Vue, or similar).
Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Take initiative in a fast-paced Kanban environment and continuously enhance development practices.
Mentor others and share best practices within the engineering team.
Respond to application issues as they arise and resolve in a timely, considerate, and forward-thinking manner.
Participate in on-call rotation.
