About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Software Engineer for a global financial institution in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity with a hybrid work arrangement. The engineer will consult on and participate in moderately complex software engineering initiatives, focusing on scalable, secure data pipelines for real-time streaming on Google Cloud Platform using Java, Python, and modern cloud services.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 2–4 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in Java application development, multithreading, Spring, and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8 or later, the Spring framework, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Gradle, CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to Kafka or Google Pub/Sub for real-time data processing.
• Candidates must be available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, secure data pipelines from on-premise systems to Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Composer.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs in the technology domain, including upgrades and deployments.
• Build and maintain high-quality, high-performance, scalable software.
• Develop Python/Beam transformation libraries, including common SCD patterns, data quality checks, and masking or tokenization routines.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by writing documentation.
