Procure Analytics•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

As a Software Engineer at Procure Analytics, you will design, build, and maintain internal and member-facing software that powers analytics, reporting, and procurement tools. You will write production code daily, work closely with senior engineers on system design, and use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to accelerate development. You are responsible for ensuring shipped software is correct, secure, tested, and maintainable, and for helping raise the engineering quality bar across the team. The role is based in Atlanta, Georgia, with a hybrid schedule: onsite Monday through Thursday and working from home on Fridays. Approximate time allocation is 60% building and maintaining software, 20% reviewing, testing, and validating code (including AI-generated code and security validation), 10% architecture and technical planning, and 10% documentation and cross-team collaboration. Procure Analytics is a technology-enabled global purchasing organization for MRO and packaging, serving more than 800 members. The company describes its culture as collaborative, humble, and values-driven, guided by integrity and compliance, value creation, disciplined entrepreneurship, innovation, and treating others with dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong full-stack development proficiency, including modern front-end development such as React with TypeScript and a back-end language and ecosystem such as Python, C#, or Java.
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and database design using SQL and/or NoSQL.
  • Software architecture skills, or experience contributing to the design and construction of large-scale enterprise applications, including service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of secure coding practices such as the OWASP Top 10, authentication and authorization, secrets management, and dependency and vulnerability management.
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization with enterprise identity providers, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or SSO.
  • Demonstrated experience writing automated unit and integration tests and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative code review workflows.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for work tracking and technical documentation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure or another major cloud provider.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, with an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
  • Experience building or integrating with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, or with other tool-use and API integration patterns for AI assistants.
  • Strong attention to code quality, security, and edge cases, and the discipline to verify AI-generated output rather than accept it at face value.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and design notes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on commitments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound tradeoffs, and communicate those tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing or building systems for reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Experience with data analytics, reporting, or procurement systems.
  • Experience building or integrating with MCP servers or other AI tool integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production applications, services, and features that support members and internal teams.
  • Use Claude Code and other AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, and review, test, and validate generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability before merging or deployment.
  • Contribute to system designs and technical plans, and document design decisions clearly.
  • Build and maintain unit and integration tests, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Integrate with cloud platforms and enterprise systems, including authentication, identity providers, and secure API access.
  • Apply security best practices, including input validation, authentication and authorization checks, secrets management, secure coding standards, dependency vulnerability scanning, and prompt remediation of findings.
  • Review AI-generated code for security weaknesses and ensure secure development practices throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-scoped, well-engineered solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and support engineering standards for quality, testing, and documentation.
