About The Position

The Software Engineer will develop life-critical embedded software for anesthesia delivery systems and related vaporizer technologies used by clinicians. The role is intended for an engineer interested in embedded systems and growing into a systems-focused position; medical-device expertise is not required at the outset, but curiosity about the interaction of software, electronics, sensors, actuators, and real-time behavior is important. The work includes feature development, product enhancements, system integration, automated testing, and investigation of product issues. The engineer will work with experienced colleagues and gradually take ownership of embedded components and system functions, with the long-term goal of building expertise in both the technology and the anesthesia and ventilation-delivery domain. The position involves developing C++ software for RTOS and Embedded Linux environments, integrating software with processors, sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and other subsystems, and debugging issues that span software, operating systems, communications, and hardware. The engineer will contribute to testing and development tools and collaborate with cross-functional and global teams on common embedded platforms and reusable software. GE HealthCare offers professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. Relocation assistance is not provided, and employment visa sponsorship is not available for this opening.
