About The Position

Build life-critical embedded software for anesthesia delivery systems and associated vaporizer technologies used by clinicians. This role is suited to a software engineer interested in embedded systems who wants to grow into a systems-focused position. Expertise in medical devices is not required, but curiosity about how software, electronics, sensors, actuators, and real-time behavior interact in a physical product is important. The work includes feature development, product enhancements, system integration, automated testing, and investigation of product issues. The engineer will work with experienced colleagues and gradually take ownership of embedded components and system functions, with the long-term goal of developing expertise in both the technology and the anesthesia and ventilation-delivery domain. The role develops software in C++ for RTOS and Embedded Linux environments and integrates it with processors, sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and other product subsystems. It involves debugging across software, operating-system, communications, and hardware boundaries, contributing to engineering processes and tools, and collaborating with cross-functional and global teams on common embedded platforms and reusable software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of software development experience.
  • Experience developing software in C++.
  • Demonstrated interest in embedded systems through work, academic projects, research, internships, robotics, controls, electronics, or personal projects.
  • Basic understanding of software design, debugging, testing, and version control.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an RTOS, Embedded Linux, ARM-based systems, or hardware/software integration.
