About The Position
Siemens Grid Software is seeking a security-focused Software Engineer to maintain, secure, and enhance its Smart Grid Engineering Manager (SGEM) platform. The role works with other product team members on an industry-leading smart grid engineering product and calls for knowledge of secure software development, server and network hardening, software engineering practices, and agile methodologies. The engineer will contribute to software design, development, testing, documentation, secure-by-default installation tooling, and software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- At least one year of experience with Siemens SP7, SGEM, and EMM products.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, OAuth, and CIS Benchmarks for security hardening.
- Ability to program in Python, C++, and shell scripting.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and document software with the Smart Grid Engineering Manager development team using modern methodologies and tools, including the Scaled Agile Framework, Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Develop tooling to ensure a secure-by-default installation.
- Create robust tests to assess security, performance, and correctness.
- Provide estimates and analysis of tasks required for development.
- Stay current on developments in security, malware, and vulnerabilities in operating systems and third-party products.
- Maintain, secure, and enhance the SGEM software platform.
