Tangram Flex is seeking Software Engineers with a minimum 3 years experience to join our dynamic team focusing on open mission systems integration, interoperability, and verification. We’re looking for software engineers who pursue deep understanding of technical objectives, while being responsible for providing innovative, reliable solutions to a range of technical challenges, ensuring complete team and customer satisfaction. This role demands a strong technical skill set coupled with the ability to establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders throughout the entire program lifecycle. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience collaborating effectively within high-functioning technical teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Deep experience with C, C++, Java, or Object-Oriented Design principles.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of work time to client sites, customer locations, and industry conferences as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or interest in Docker, Java, Go, Rust, Haskell, and network communications technology.
  • Familiarity with modern software test approaches, including unit testing, static analysis, fuzz testing, and symbolic execution.
  • Experience with communication & proposals; high level written and verbal communication skills to author or contribute to technical documentation, support proposal development, and present to external customers.
  • Understanding of or interest in DoD Open Architecture standards (e.g., OMS, FACE).
  • Familiarity with UAV/autonomous systems, relevant messaging formats (e.g., MAVLink), and simulation frameworks (e.g., AFSIM).
  • Hands-on experience integrating sub-system components, embedded systems, and toolchains like Simulink.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and document high-quality software using relevant languages (C/C++, Java, Python, Rust).
  • Analyze design approaches to improve the efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources for new and existing products.
  • Build and maintain deep technical expertise in Tangram Flex products to support internal systems, customer deployments, and live demonstrations.
  • Support end-to-end system testing, performance analysis, and troubleshooting across integrated hardware/software setups.
  • Active participant in Agile SDLC events, including sprint planning, daily progress tracking, technical reviews, and integration events.
  • Partner closely with software, systems, and cross-functional teams to refine system requirements, design choices, and system characteristics.
  • Provide technical support and product guidance to customer engineers, resolving issues in line with company values and business goals.
  • Translate customer requirements for internal teams (engineering, product, sales) and clearly articulate technical findings, project statuses, and demos to both technical and business audiences.
