Mid Level Software Engineer
About The Position
PensionBee is a growing company focused on simplifying retirement savings for customers in the UK and US. They aim to be a global leader in consumer retirement by offering a simple online account for managing savings. In the UK, they consolidate pensions, and in the US, they help individuals roll over their 401(k)s into new IRAs. PensionBee provides customers with a personal account manager and invests their money through large managers like State Street Global Advisors. The company is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange (LON: PBEE) and has been recognized for its growth. They are expanding their team and seeking two mid-level software engineers to contribute to their product development.
Requirements
- Solid hands-on experience with React and Node.js
- Working familiarity with TypeScript (nice to have if you're not yet fluent, but comfortable picking it up)
- A minimum of 2 years of professional development experience.
- Love for the quality of your work and attention to detail.
- Clear written and spoken English is a must.
- Deep expertise in technologies relevant to modern web development.
- Ability to evaluate and critically apply AI-generated code: knowing when to trust it, when to push back, and how to maintain quality standards is a considerable plus
- Able to work effectively and empathically in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other developers on projects.
- Confidence with good practices, patterns and techniques in software development, but also a love of learning and personal development
Nice To Haves
- Experience working for companies in Europe / US, directly or though a consulting firm, is a considerable plus
Responsibilities
- Develop new features and enhancements for our React + Node.js Capacitor app
- Keep stakeholders informed on progress, blockers, and timelines
- Perform code reviews to help maintain and improve the quality of our released code
- Manually test features you develop to ensure they meet expectations before release
