About The Position

Docusign is seeking a Software Engineer to work on the next generation of our Search and Data Platform. As part of the Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) initiative, our team is transitioning customer-facing reporting and search capabilities to a modern, highly scalable cloud data platform. You will move beyond standard feature development to build the distributed infrastructure that allows millions of users to instantly discover, filter, and analyze their agreements. We are looking for a builder who has experience with modern search frameworks, distributed systems, and solving "never-been-done-before" problems at scale. You will work closely with product leaders from proof-of-concept to V1 release, ensuring our solutions are fault-tolerant, secure, and blazingly fast. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Machine Learning.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, or relevant fields
  • 3+ years of software development experience in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, C++, or Go)
  • 1+ years of experience with large-scale data systems and search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr)
  • 1+ years of experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka)
  • 1+ years of experience building services in public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Direct involvement in the design and operation of high-availability SaaS platforms (99.9%+ uptime)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

Responsibilities

  • Build fault-tolerant, high-throughput search systems using microservices architecture
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of search clusters to ensure sub-second query performance across petabytes of data
  • Develop and deploy scalable services in Azure, leveraging containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code
  • Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical designs, drive implementation, write ample test coverage, and oversee the release process
  • Conduct code reviews, and work with cross-site teams to drive engineering best practices
  • Identify and resolve production issues, ensuring 99.99% availability for critical search services
