About The Position

The Software Engineer will drive strategic alignment and partnership across engineering, product, and business teams to architect, design, and deliver innovative, high-impact features. The role involves developing sophisticated software solutions and maintaining secure, high-quality code that integrates with distributed systems and meets production standards. The engineer will also diagnose complex application issues, perform root cause analysis, and help ensure system integrity and uptime. Additional responsibilities include reviewing code, mentoring peers, establishing engineering best practices, and analyzing large, heterogeneous data sets to produce insights, visualizations, and reports that support continuous improvement of software platforms.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus at least seven years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The role is based at 600 Travis Street, Houston, Texas 77002, and is full-time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
• At least 7 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Technology Specialist, Technical Lead, or in a related occupation.
• Experience designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-grade web applications using Java, GoLang, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience with relational SQL and non-relational NoSQL databases, including schema design, optimization, and query performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and designing and deploying RESTful APIs.
• Experience using Git and distributed version control, including branching strategies, code integration, and release management.
• Experience designing secure authentication and authorization using IAM concepts and technologies including OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience using Java, SQL, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and database querying techniques to develop, debug, and maintain mission-critical codebases in large corporate settings.
• Experience using cloud computing for scalable infrastructure and deployment automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive analytics and business process automation, and mobile technologies including OAuth 2.0 and OIDC in mobile flows.
