About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing solutions, designing, developing, and troubleshooting technical problems. You will work in an Agile development environment, collaborating with team members including Product Owners. Your responsibilities will include developing secure, high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and driving decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations. You will ensure product quality through various testing methods and serve as a subject matter expert, influencing peers and decision-makers on the use of leading-edge technologies. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and conduct technical interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
  • 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Software Engineer, Software Engineer/Developer, Application Developer, Technical Lead, or related occupation.
  • Five (5) years of experience with developing backend systems in Java, including JDK 8 or higher using Spring Boot.
  • Five (5) years of experience with building RESTful APIs and integrating them with AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases using Spring Data JPA with Hibernate.
  • Five (5) years of experience with applying query optimization techniques and managing transactional workflows.
  • Five (5) years of experience with managing real-time data ingestion pipelines using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Five (5) years of experience with designing aggregation pipelines and indexing strategies for unstructured data in MongoDB.
  • Three (3) years of experience with executing serverless SQL queries with AWS Athena.
  • Three (3) years of experience with managing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes, with Helm charts for deployment and Karpenter for autoscaling.

Nice To Haves

  • Any amount of experience with developing high-performance applications in distributed environments through Java concurrency frameworks, including Akka.
  • Any amount of experience with building enterprise-grade UI applications in React, including implementing custom hooks for reusable business logic, state management using Redux Toolkit in multi-module applications, and routing strategies with React Router v6+.
  • Any amount of experience with implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms and integrating identity federation using ADFS.
  • Any amount of experience with designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end bigdata platforms and ETL pipelines to process terabyte-scale datasets.
  • Any amount of experience with executing workflows through AWS Glue and performing warehousing in Amazon Redshift.
  • Any amount of experience with enabling secure, efficient file transfers from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Any amount of experience with implementing security and access controls using AWS IAM.
  • Any amount of experience with configuring security features in ALB and NLB including WAF integration and SSL termination.
  • Any amount of experience with configuring monitoring and observability features with Datadog; implementing metric collection, alerting policies, distributing tracing, and real-time performance dashboards.
  • Any amount of experience with orchestrating CI/CD workflows using Jenkins and Spinnaker across development, testing, and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Work in an Agile development environment with team members, including Product Owners.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code.
  • Review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on coding standards, best practices, and design patterns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to align on technical requirements, project timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct technical interviews to assess candidates programming skills, system design knowledge, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Research and explore new automation methods through independent study, attending industry-leading conferences for production support tasks automation.
