About The Position

Tiny Fish is hiring a Software Engineer to own the end-to-end design, implementation, and maintenance of platform components such as task orchestration, agent runtime, and data pipelines. The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering leads to turn requirements into technical objectives and delivery timelines, and build scalable, fault-tolerant APIs and services with attention to performance, security, and observability. The role also involves integrating platform components with front-end UIs, data stores, message queues, and third-party services; developing automated testing and CI/CD pipelines; conducting design and code reviews; mentoring junior engineers; and resolving production issues through root-cause analysis, monitoring, alerting, and self-healing patterns. The position is full-time and may be performed in-office or remotely, with a strong preference for overlap with Pacific Time.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience, with demonstrated ownership of mission-critical services.
  • Expertise in at least one backend language, such as Python, Go, or Java.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end or serverless components.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and managed data stores such as Postgres, Redis, or S3.
  • Deep appreciation for CI/CD, test-driven development, and observability, including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, a bias for action, and clear, proactive communication across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for AI-driven automation and eagerness to help Tiny Fish push the boundaries of what web agents can do.

  • Architect and build scalable, fault-tolerant APIs and services using best practices in performance, security, and observability.
  • Integrate components with front-end UIs, data stores, message queues, and third-party services.
  • Develop and enforce automated unit, integration, and load testing, as well as CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct design and code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive adoption of coding standards and shared libraries.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analyses, and implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing patterns.
