About the team: The team manages and optimizes the Finance data lake, ensuring financial data integrity and accessibility to support analytics and insights. It consists of skilled software engineers and data specialists focused on designing scalable, secure solutions aligned with business goals. Emphasizing collaboration and continuous improvement, the team applies advanced software development and DevOps practices to deliver reliable, high-quality applications. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Strong technical acumen in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with business objectives.
  • Proven ability to deliver scoped features and components through iterative development and continuous integration practices.
  • Expertise in code review, debugging, and automated testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across teams and mentor peers.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and technical ownership of deliverables.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using languages such as Python, JavaScript, and others, supporting full software development lifecycle.
  • Integrate AI and machine learning components to enhance software capabilities and leverage generative AI tools to improve development efficiency.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and automated testing to maintain high-quality software standards.
  • Participate in solution design, evaluating trade-offs and ensuring scalable, secure implementations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor application performance and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
