About The Position

FlightSafety operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom. Responsible for developing software for simulator systems. Application areas include real time simulation; simulation of aircraft systems, navigation, aircraft dynamics; simulator interoperability; simulation software integration with OEM software; simulator software system design; computer systems and information security. Intermediate Level; continuing development level. Performs more varied and difficult aspects of the job; may need guidance on job duties; apply learning to recommend options to address unusual situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics or other applicable technical field; and two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience in software engineering.
  • C# programming.
  • System-level debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Software architecture and object-oriented design.
  • Strong physics and mathematics (especially geometry) background.
  • Collaborative spirit, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Ability to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) requirements, including qualifying as a “U.S. Person”.

Responsibilities

  • Developing software for simulator systems.
  • Real-time simulation.
  • Simulation of aircraft systems, navigation, and aircraft dynamics.
  • Simulator interoperability.
  • Simulation software integration with OEM software.
  • Simulator software system design.
  • Computer systems and information security.
  • Support our Display Management System (DMS) C# .NET application.
  • Incorporate product improvements into the DMS.
  • Assess requirements, design, develop, test, integrate, peer review, document, maintain, and provide end-user support for the DMS.
  • Work with a variety of hardware including state-of-the-art projectors, cameras, spectrometers, and night vision goggles.
  • Engage in projects spanning image and signal processing, machine vision, process control, automation, and interface design.
