About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 3 Software Engineer to support the Resilient Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (RMWT) Epoch 2 V2 program in Boulder, CO. This role involves developing solutions for OPIR sensor-data-stream processing to enable missile-warning capabilities for the Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation. The position is contingent upon program award expected in November 2026. This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates typically require 3+ years of professional experience and a BS degree. Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software development experience
  • Proven ability to work in high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on system quality and timely delivery
  • 3+ years of experience coding software with proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, C#, or C++
  • Professional experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker)
  • Understanding of how applications are deployed and orchestrated (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication, specifically in producing high-quality technical documentation and providing constructive, actionable feedback during peer code reviews

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Processing codebase
  • Adapt and extend existing frameworks for new sensor interfaces
  • Create and document robust APIs, and build mission-processing applications that meet stringent performance, latency, and reliability requirements
  • Write and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests
  • Troubleshoot issues across the software stack
  • Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, algorithm, and mission-operations teams to deliver high-quality features on schedule
