About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 3 Software Engineer to support the Resilient Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (RMWT) Epoch 2 V2 program in Boulder, CO. This role involves developing solutions for OPIR sensor-data-stream processing to enable missile-warning capabilities for the Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation. The position is contingent upon program award expected in November 2026. This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates typically require 3+ years of professional experience and a BS degree. Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

At least five years of professional software development experience
Proven ability to work in high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on system quality and timely delivery
3+ years of experience coding software with proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, C#, or C++
Professional experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Must be a US Citizen for consideration

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker)
Understanding of how applications are deployed and orchestrated (e.g., Kubernetes)
Excellence in written and verbal communication, specifically in producing high-quality technical documentation and providing constructive, actionable feedback during peer code reviews

Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Processing codebase
Adapt and extend existing frameworks for new sensor interfaces
Create and document robust APIs, and build mission-processing applications that meet stringent performance, latency, and reliability requirements
Write and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests
Troubleshoot issues across the software stack
Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, algorithm, and mission-operations teams to deliver high-quality features on schedule
