About The Position

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Catalog Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, scalable catalog services that support millions of Walmart customers. You will build integrations with next generation downstream applications powered by an event- driven, microservices-based architecture. Our team focuses on enhancing seller and supplier experiences in catalog creation and management. Our technology stack primarily includes Java for backend and UI services, offering strong opportunities for growth and collaboration. The Catalog Engineering team has built a highly scalable catalog platform. In this role, you will work on next-generation upstream integrations, catalog migrations, and the development of scalable microservices. You will independently handle critical production issues, perform troubleshooting, and contribute to system reliability. As part of this fast-paced and entrepreneurial team, you will help deliver innovative solutions that have a large-scale business impact.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of Java (version 21), Spring Boot, REST services, JPA, Kafka, AMQ, Azure, CI/CD tools, Maven, Concord, Cassandra, Solr, GCP, Hive, BigQuery, AI agents, MCP, and LangGraph.
  • Experience building microservices using Spring Boot and reactive frameworks such as WebFlux and Project Reactor.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, Solr, AMQ,caching technologies).
  • Strong understanding of Spark engine.
  • Deep knowledge of J2EE, multithreading, and networking concepts.
  • Expertise in performance tuning, caching, and offline storage.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and Maven.
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with GenAI best practices.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and Cassandra.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD and monitoring.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

  • Lead by example as a strong and experienced engineer.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Work in an Agile environment and follow engineering best practices.
  • Stay updated with GenAI trends and contribute to innovative solutions.
  • Participate in medium- to large-scale cross-functional projects, translating requirements into technical designs and delivering robust solutions.
  • Independently handle critical production issues, perform troubleshooting, and contribute to system reliability.
