About The Position

The Enterprise Technology Financial Services area is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to partner with Financial Services in their support of existing alliances, as well as bringing new opportunities to market. This role will leverage modern coding and software engineering practices to design, develop, and maintain applications that effectively meet business needs while ensuring high standards of security and usability. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in analyzing customer requirements, managing technology assets, and fostering an Agile and DevOps culture throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Software engineering/application development experience
  • Programming: Active development experience in Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular and Springboot
  • Tools: Github, Slack, Jira, Codex, Claude, ChatGPT
  • Cloud/Compute: In-depth knowledge of compute environments, including AWS (and familiarity with .NET/Azure or comparable environments)
  • Containers/Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (experience with ROSA is a plus)
  • Security: Demonstrated secure coding practices and familiarity with DevSecGitOps principles
  • Delivery/Collaboration: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems/issues; provide technical consultation and direction to business and product teams; influence engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and architecture collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS Well-Architected and/or related cloud architecture practices
  • Experience strengthening delivery practices through TDD/BDD, automated testing, and strong code review standards
  • Experience delivering software in Financial Services contexts
  • Open-source/community contribution experience
  • Strong knowledge of core software engineering fundamentals, including classes/functions, containers, version control, DevSecGitOps, and unit tests
  • Deep understanding of secure coding best practices
  • Deep understanding of programming and active development in a core programming language (Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular, Springboot)
  • In-depth knowledge of compute environments including AWS (and familiarity with .NET/Azure or comparable environments)
  • Demonstrated containerization expertise using Docker and Kubernetes (ROSA preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems
  • Ability to provide technical direction and consult with business/product partners

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Up-to-Date Engineering Practices using modern tools/processes (Git, GitLab, VS Code, IntelliJ), engineering methods, and Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban), applying architecture guidance (e.g., AWS Well-Architected) to improve complex issue efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Collecting and Analyzing Information to identify customer needs, develop technical solutions, and diagnose/resolve complex problems.
  • Managing Technology and Data Assets through analysis, design, and security, including maintaining secure coding best practices.
  • Exhibiting DevOps and Agile Mindset by taking responsibility for the product throughout its entire lifecycle (including DevSecGitOps).
  • Understanding User Experience (UX) to improve customer interaction with products through UX principles.
  • Applying Complex Principles using advanced computer science concepts for software solutions.
  • Technical Leadership, Quality, and Mentorship by providing technical consultation/direction, influencing coding/data/testing standards, participating in code reviews and software architecture decisions, driving required product testing practices (including TDD/BDD or a similar mindset), and mentoring/coordinating/delegating work to product team members and area members.
  • Documentation and Community Contribution by authoring and contributing to technical product documentation and support articles (blogs, cookbooks, wikis) and participating in open-source communities with contributions where applicable.

Benefits

  • Compensation is based on a standard 38:45-hour work week
  • Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $170,000
  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
