About The Position

Abode Money is hiring an autonomous, reliable Software Engineer who stays calm under pressure and can take ownership of difficult problems. The engineer will own core systems supporting property tax, insurance, and mortgage products end to end, from architecture through production reliability, working directly with the founders. The role involves building resilient services and workflows as volume grows, structuring complex information such as county rules, PDFs, and edge cases, making thoughtful tradeoffs between speed and reliability, and collaborating with product, design, and operations to improve user experiences. The role is in person five days a week in Austin, Texas, or for someone willing to relocate. Compensation is $130,000–$170,000 base salary, plus equity.

Requirements

At least 2 years of engineering experience, including owning systems end to end from architecture to production.
A strong backend or full-stack foundation.
Experience with modern programming languages and cloud infrastructure.
Be located in Austin or willing to relocate; work in person five days a week.
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and regular use of AI.
Low-ego approach and ability to raise the bar for the team.

Responsibilities
