About The Position

We are Donnes, a company specializing in agile recruitment and selection. We connect professionals with companies during strategic growth phases. We are facilitating an opportunity for a startup that is building, from its early versions, a real-guaranteed credit product supported by Artificial Intelligence. The product involves a complex journey of credit analysis, multiple business rules, and integrations with different information sources. Development is AI-native, with AI agents incorporated into the software development cycle. In this context, the engineering role goes beyond writing code line by line: we are looking for someone capable of understanding complex problems, asking the right questions, systematizing business rules, designing solutions, and critically evaluating what is produced by the agents before it reaches production.

Requirements

• Experience with software development and understanding of the development cycle, including versioning, code review, testing, and deployment.
• Good software engineering fundamentals, including architecture, data modeling, APIs, and web application functioning.
• Analytical and critical reasoning, with the ability to decompose complex problems, ask the right questions, and evaluate different solution paths.
• Systematization ability, transforming rules, scenarios, and exceptions into logical structures that can be translated into software.
• Knowledge of software architecture and cloud systems, including concepts of distributed, serverless, and/or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider.
• Experience using AI tools in software development, with openness to work intensively with coding agents throughout the development cycle.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business contexts.
• Product vision, autonomy, and initiative to act on problems that do not always come with a ready specification.
• Comfort working in a startup environment with high execution speed and dynamic priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using coding agents recurrently and advancedly, going beyond punctual code generation.
• Knowledge in Python, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Experience building products from initial phases or in startup environments.
• Experience with systems involving multiple integrations and complex business rules.
• Experience in fintechs, credit, or financial services.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with Product to understand demands, business rules, exceptions, dependencies, and impacts.
• Decompose complex problems and transform them into structured systems and solutions.
• Utilize AI agents intensively throughout development, providing context, objectives, and constraints, and iterating on results.
• Participate in the design and evolution of the architecture, involving onboarding flows, back-end integrations, asynchronous communications, and different application components.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated approaches and code, identifying potential security, performance, concurrency, database, and maintainability issues.
• Navigate different layers of the application, without a rigid division between front-end and back-end.
• Implement, test, review, and monitor features through to production.
• Investigate anomalous behaviors and root causes using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Make decisions in scenarios that are still poorly structured, testing approaches and adjusting solutions with agility.
