2027 Summer Intern, MS/PhD, Software Engineer, Multiverse
About The Position
Waymo is hiring a 2027 summer Software Engineer intern for its Multiverse team. Software Engineering builds the software behind Waymo’s autonomous driving technology, enabling the Waymo Driver to perceive its surroundings, make decisions, and safely transport people. Interns partner with industry leaders on impactful projects while applying their knowledge and developing their skills. In this role, you will contribute to infrastructure for administering a virtual driving test for the Waymo Driver and implement a project for scalable simulation data pipelines that evaluate the Waymo Driver’s driving capability. You will also apply software engineering best practices to improve code health and/or developer experience in the virtual driving test. This is a hybrid onsite internship.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excitement about autonomous driving and eagerness to learn.
Nice To Haves
- SQL skills.
- Python programming skills.
- Familiarity with distributed systems.
- Comfort with AI-assisted development features and workflows.
Responsibilities
