About The Position

FT Partners is hiring a Software Engineer to join its San Francisco engineering team. The role focuses on building and maintaining FT Base, the firm’s digital backbone for its data ecosystem, project lifecycles, AI agents, and proprietary CRM. FT Base is a mission-critical application used continuously and also powers an MCP server that provides employees with data and interactivity through enterprise AI tooling. Its technology stack includes Python, Django and Django REST Framework, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL. The engineer will deliver stable, maintainable features, reduce technical debt, and help organize and strengthen the firm’s software systems for sustained impact. The position requires understanding business requirements across multiple functional areas, implementing and improving system features, making recommendations on project direction, and reviewing applications prototyped outside the engineering department. AI-assisted development is part of the role; candidates must be able to explain and verify submitted AI-produced code line by line and help take prototypes toward cohesive, scalable systems. FT Partners is an investment bank headquartered in San Francisco that focuses on brokering FinTech transactions. The position is hybrid and based in the San Francisco office. Requirements

Meet one of the stated experience or education pathways: two years as a Software Engineer in a web application environment; or two years as a Software Engineer plus a reputable boot camp certification; or a four-year Computer Science degree plus projects or work experience.
Knowledge of Python, TypeScript, APIs, Git, and web application system design concepts.
Strong AI prompt-driven development abilities supported by technical understanding.
Ability to explain and verify AI-produced code on a line-by-line basis.
Experience overcoming challenges beyond the prototype stage and an instinct for cohesive, organized systems that scale.
Responsible, organized, and attentive to detail.
Systems-minded and flexible in response to business pressures and constraints.
Collaborative and team-oriented, open to asking questions, sharing ideas, and helping teammates.
Willingness to adopt new standards and improve previous solutions.
