About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring a Software Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan. The engineer will contribute to the architecture, development, and evolution of the client’s Vehicle Integration System (VIS), a platform used by vehicle upfitters, fleet customers, and internal engineering teams to configure and integrate aftermarket equipment with production vehicles. The role combines cloud software, embedded vehicle systems, AI-powered engineering tools, and vehicle communications networks. It requires software engineering expertise and automotive systems knowledge to support integration of vehicle signals, switches, telematics data, proprietary modules, and future software-defined vehicle capabilities. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain cloud-native and desktop applications and services for VIS configuration workflows. The work includes implementing microservices and APIs, creating reusable configuration and integration services, and meeting performance, scalability, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements. The role also involves collaborating with vehicle feature engineers, module owners, telematics teams, and suppliers; assessing vehicle architecture changes; and participating in design reviews and feasibility assessments. The position includes analyzing vehicle requirements and technical documentation and translating vehicle capabilities into VIS configuration logic and software. The engineer will develop architecture designs, evaluate technology and deployment approaches, and help integrate AI capabilities for configuration authoring, validation, and diagnostics. Modern engineering practices include automated testing, test-driven development, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, code quality metrics, and DevSecOps.
