Software Engineer (Web Developer)
About The Position
Dutch Pet, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer (Web Developer) to develop and implement websites, web applications, application databases, and interactive web interfaces. This role involves developing and launching native applications for iOS and Android. The engineer will transform wireframes and design concepts into functional web applications using modern front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Responsibilities include developing and deploying different versions of a feature to determine which one performs better, using data to inform product decisions and drive conversions. The role also requires optimizing applications for speed and performance, ensuring compatibility across different browsers and devices, and working closely with back-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow. Collaboration with UI/UX designers to implement brand-aligned design concepts is also key. The engineer will stay updated on new technologies and tools to bring innovative ideas to the company's products. This position allows for 100% telecommuting and may involve working at various unanticipated locations throughout the United States.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in STEM or a related field.
- Two years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Full Stack Developer or related occupation.
- Two years of experience in full-stack development: Proven ability to work across the entire application stack, from front-end user interface development to back-end server logic and database management.
- Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining web applications end-to-end.
- Experience with Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests in a collaborative environment (Github).
- Strong command of modern JavaScript (ES6+), including asynchronous programming and core language features.
- Practical experience using TypeScript to build robust, scalable applications with strong typing.
- Proficient in modern CSS, responsive design, and preprocessors like Sass.
- Extensive experience developing scalable applications using React, proficient in component-based architecture and state management (React.js).
- Hands-on experience building cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native.
- Practical experience with GraphQL for efficient data fetching, including schema design and client-side integration.
