About The Position

The Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) team is composed of inclusive and diverse Agile teams where everyone's voice is valued. VMEC is responsible for the definition, design, and development of all embedded controllers that influence vehicle motion. The Thermal Runaway Propagation (TRP) group specifically focuses on developing and executing diagnostics and prognostics to detect and prevent thermal runaway in High Voltage Battery Systems. This role involves developing diagnostic and prognostic algorithms using telemetry and data analysis, adhering to best practices for VMEC features, and contributing to the growth of capabilities in emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or other applicable Engineering focuses.
  • 2-5 years of Engineering experience with proven technical and professional skills in a job-related area.
  • Knowledge of Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS, GIT environments, plant modeling, and/or analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of Java, Matlab, Simulink, Python scripting, INCA, etc.
  • Knowledge of sub-system integration including design, implementation, and testing.
  • Proficient in C, C++ programming.
  • Knowledge of Auto Code Generation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization.
  • Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, and take initiative/self-directed.
  • Consistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer-centric.

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Computer Science.
  • Skilled in C, C++, Matlab, Simulink, Auto Code Generation, Python scripting, ETAS, INCA, MDA, and other software tools for either the development or testing of software.
  • Experience with JIRA and Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience with bootloader, embedded operating systems, controller communication, or diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR standards and methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience with CAN, LIN, ARXML, or Ethernet communications protocol.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver software technical solutions including specifying requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development, and testing for the TRP organization utilizing the ART Framework.
  • Implement software for Controls Design to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies, as well as controller communication.
  • Test and demonstrate software functionality.
  • Document requirements for design solutions.
  • Link design solutions to test cases that demonstrate software functionality.
  • Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality.
  • Participate in software planning events, share ideas and learnings to help train/teach others.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among the software community.
  • Utilize the Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
