Growth Team- Software Engineer (Staff)

Sprinter HealthSan Francisco, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Sprinter Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Growth Engineering team. This role is crucial in evolving how patients access care by making it easier to book appointments directly through the core product, moving away from a primarily outbound phone outreach model. The Growth Engineering team focuses on reaching, educating, and facilitating appointment booking for patients, particularly those in underserved communities. This position offers a tangible impact, as the systems built will directly influence patient access to care. The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office collaboration from Monday to Thursday and work-from-anywhere on Fridays. The company emphasizes work-life balance and provides flexibility. Daily lunch is provided, fostering team connection.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • 2-3 years of experience on a growth or experimentation-focused team.
  • Experience mentoring earlier career engineers.
  • Experience with pod-level ownership on projects.
  • Experience building and iterating on backend systems that power experimentation, messaging, funnels, or activation flows.
  • Experience shipping and measuring experiments that moved core metrics like activation, conversion, retention, or booking.
  • Experience using data to identify drop-offs, size opportunities, and prioritize development.
  • Experience collaborating with product, design, data, or ops to turn insights into shipped features.
  • Experience balancing speed and impact in a startup or high-growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Shipped experiments that directly moved activation, conversion, or booking metrics.
  • Comfortable owning the full loop: sizing, building, launching, and measuring.
  • Experience on products where growth is driven through the product, not just outbound channels.
  • Ability to move fast with data, scrappy tooling, and lightweight experiments.
  • Experience operating in high-ambiguity, zero-to-one, or PLG environments where playbooks didn’t exist.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship experiments that drive patient bookings, including message copy tests, outreach timing, and new in-product booking flows.
  • Optimize multi-channel engagement across SMS, phone, email, and mail to reach patients who typically don’t schedule care.
  • Run rapid brainstorms and sizing exercises to prioritize growth initiatives.
  • Define and monitor funnel metrics to understand drop-off, activation, and conversion.
  • Share insights through clear reporting and experiment reviews with cross-functional partners.
  • Test unconventional tactics, such as door-knocking pilots, and simulate outreach volume to match clinical supply and demand.

Benefits

  • Meaningful pre-IPO equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans (100% paid for employee and dependents)
  • Flexible PTO + 10 paid holidays per year
  • 401(k) with match
  • 16-week parental leave policy for birthing parent, 8 weeks for all other parents
  • HSA + FSA contributions
  • Life insurance, plus short and long-term disability coverage
  • Free daily lunch in-office
  • Annual learning stipend
