As a Software Engineer Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Cleveland, OH, Strongsville, OH or Birmingham, AL. Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Writes code, tests and deploys software. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software. Maintains and debugs software. Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience developing, enhancing, and supporting IBM z/OS mainframe applications in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS, supporting both online transaction processing and complex batch workflows.
  • Proven ability to understand, refactor, and modernize large, complex legacy codebases while maintaining system stability and performance
  • Deep experience with mainframe source control and deployment tooling used in enterprise financial institutions, including Endevor or successor platforms, and an understanding of enterprise promotion and audit controls.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise batch scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M) and end-to-end batch dependency management.
  • Experience working within mainframe security frameworks, including ACF2 concepts, privileged access controls, and separation-of-duties requirements.
