About The Position

Scanner is seeking a Software Engineer to build product features and infrastructure that ensure Scanner operates effortlessly. The role involves creating tools for customer investigations across years of security logs, developing ingestion pipelines for massive log streams from cloud providers and SaaS platforms, and building outbound integrations to connect Scanner with user workflows. The systems developed must operate at scale, handling hundreds of terabytes to petabytes of log data daily.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development, with an emphasis on backend technologies.
Proficiency in at least one backend language like Rust, Go, C/C++, Java, or Swift, and willingness to ramp into Rust (we’ll get you productive within a month).
General familiarity with databases, database internals, and data pipelines/warehouses.
A craft-first stance on AI coding tools. You use them when they accelerate delivery, and you own every line of code you commit.
Comfort working in a fast-paced and low process environment.

Responsibilities

Build the tools that let customers and their AI agents run investigations across years of security logs.
Develop the ingestion pipelines that pull massive log streams from cloud providers and SaaS platforms into Scanner.
Create outbound integrations that plug Scanner into the workflows users care about.
Ensure systems operate at scale and handle hundreds of terabytes to petabytes of log data per day.
