About The Position

Assembled is seeking an experienced software engineer to join their Platform organization. This team is responsible for the core systems that power Assembled's products, including infrastructure, data platforms, and integrations. The role involves working on foundational problems that support both workforce management and AI agents, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and capable of handling both real-time and analytical workloads. Projects include developing scalable application infrastructure, building an integrations platform for data ingestion, creating modern data foundations for derived datasets, and investing in systems that support both real-time operational and analytical workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience involving backend, platform, or infrastructure systems
  • Excited by the idea of working on foundational problems that cut across infrastructure, data platforms, and integrations
  • Thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy figuring out the right abstractions, system boundaries, and tradeoffs
  • Care deeply about reliability, maintainability, performance, and building systems that empower other engineers
  • Enjoy collaborating cross-functionally and understand how platform work can unlock product and business impact
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes + Karpenter
  • Familiarity with Postgres + PgBouncer, Snowflake, Redis
  • Familiarity with Go and Python

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the core systems that power Assembled's products end-to-end.
  • Develop and maintain scalable application infrastructure, including container orchestration, observability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Build the platform and connectors for the integrations that ingest data from customer-reliant systems (CRMs, ticketing systems, knowledge bases, etc.).
  • Develop systems that transform raw data into reliable, queryable, derived datasets for metrics, reporting, and analytics.
  • Invest in systems that support both low-latency operational paths and heavier analytical workflows.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand how platform work impacts product and business goals.
