About The Position

Glean is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile, to accelerate development of fully native iOS and Android apps. The role will replace existing apps that wrap the web app with polished native applications built using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, and establish strong technical foundations for the new codebases. The engineer will build user-facing capabilities across search, AI assistant, agents, notifications, and operating-system integrations. They will define mobile architecture, own mobile CI/CD and release infrastructure, and create AI-native development workflows. The role also owns enterprise readiness, including authentication, managed and BYOD device support, data protection, audit events, and participation in enterprise security reviews. This is a hybrid position requiring four days per week in the Mountain View or San Francisco office.

Requirements

At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
At least 4 years shipping production mobile apps on both iOS and Android.
Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin, working knowledge of the other language, and willingness to develop cross-platform fluency.
Experience owning mobile CI/CD pipelines and release infrastructure, such as Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, GitHub Actions, Gradle, code signing, and staged rollouts.
Daily use of AI coding tools to accelerate delivery without reducing quality, and opinions on structuring codebases and toolchains for effective agent use.
Experience with mobile authentication, including OAuth 2.0/PKCE, OIDC/SAML, MSAL, ASWebAuthenticationSession or Custom Tabs, and Keychain or Android Keystore.
Experience shipping OS integrations, such as widgets, App Intents/Shortcuts, extensions, or background work, on at least one platform.
Comfort owning problems end to end, from infrastructure to user-interface details, in an ambiguous environment.

Experience migrating a hybrid or cross-platform app to native.
Experience shipping apps in MDM/MAM-managed enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Build and ship native iOS and Android apps using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.
Deliver end-to-end user-facing features including search, AI assistant, agents, notifications, and OS integrations such as widgets, App Intents, share extensions, and live voice modes.
Create native-feeling platform experiences following Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design, with attention to accessibility, performance, and offline behavior.
Define mobile architecture, including module boundaries, networking, persistence, concurrency, observability, and performance budgets.
Own mobile CI/CD, including automated builds and tests, code signing, TestFlight and Play Store deployment, phased rollouts, and release health monitoring.
Set up AI-native development workflows, including an agent-friendly repository, automated test generation, AI-assisted review, and tools that enable coding agents to build, run, and verify mobile changes.
Build, sign, and ship enterprise app variants with distinct configuration and distribution requirements.
Own mobile authentication end to end, including OAuth 2.0/PKCE, OIDC/SAML SSO, secure token and session handling, and identity-provider policies such as conditional access and device trust.
Support managed and BYOD environments, including MDM, MAM, managed app configuration, app protection policies, and Android Enterprise work profiles.
Design admin-controlled data protection for downloads, sharing, copy/paste, and screenshots with Security and Admin teams, and emit reliable audit events for customer security tooling.
Represent mobile in enterprise security reviews and validate behavior on managed and unmanaged devices.
