Requirements

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong experience designing and operating production backend systems
• Experience building distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, or infrastructure platforms
• Strong systems design, data modeling, and performance optimization skills
• Experience with Python, Go, Java, or similar backend languages
• Strong understanding of databases, caching, queues, and asynchronous architectures
• Excellent communication and ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Comfortable working in fast-moving, high-growth environments

Nice To Haves

• Experience with marketplace, recommendation, matching, scheduling, or search systems
• Experience supporting AI/ML-powered products or model inference infrastructure
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, or Terraform
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and distributed messaging systems
• Experience building internal developer platforms or workflow engines
• Startup or hypergrowth company experience
• Strong ownership mentality with bias toward simple, maintainable system design

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services that power marketplace matching, routing, and fulfillment
• Develop scalable APIs supporting search, eligibility, scoring, allocation, and workflow automation
• Build high-performance distributed systems capable of processing large volumes of real-time decisions
• Design robust data models and abstractions for a rapidly evolving two-sided marketplace
• Develop infrastructure supporting asynchronous workflows, event processing, and operational automation
• Improve reliability, latency, scalability, and observability of critical production systems
• Partner closely with Product, Operations, AI, and Infrastructure teams to deliver new platform capabilities
• Build reusable backend architecture that enables rapid product iteration without sacrificing quality
