About The Position

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer Level 3 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems in support of mission-critical programs for the Fort Meade Customer. This role involves working with processing-intensive analytics, large-scale data systems, and real-time applications. The engineer will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, supporting system design, implementation, and performance optimization while collaborating within a team environment.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
12+ years of software engineering experience
Strong experience with Angular development
Experience developing complex, data-intensive, or real-time applications
Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices
Experience with system design, requirements analysis, and software testing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements
Design and implement frontend solutions with a focus on Angular-based applications
Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and performance specifications
Review and test software components to ensure adherence to design requirements and document results
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and problem reports
Apply appropriate software development methodologies and best practices
Contribute to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and technology selection
Support software reuse and evaluate the use of COTS/GOTS solutions
Perform requirements analysis and decomposition from system-level to individual software components
Collaborate effectively both independently and within a team environment
