As a(n) Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Retail Technology organization, you will be based in either Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX or Strongsville OH. Requirements

  • Java and Spring Boot: Strong programming skills in Java and experience with the Spring Boot framework are foundational.
  • DevOps and CI/CD: Understanding and participation in DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Agile Development: Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment.
  • University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Archer, ServiceNow GRC, Jira, and Contrast, related governance processes
  • Good understanding of Windows and Linux patching fundamentals, including patch failures, reboot dependencies, and baseline drift
  • Experience with Java application vulnerabilities, including secure coding gaps and configuration weaknesses
  • Understanding of third-party and open-source library risks, including CVEs, exploitability, and transitive dependencies

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on working knowledge of vulnerability management to triage findings, validate risk, and track remediation SLAs
  • Ability to lead technical teams, overseeing configuration, testing, engineering activities, and release management
  • Ability to drive risk-based prioritization, resource allocation, monitoring, and end-to-end remediation tracking
  • Strong reporting and stakeholder communication skills, using Excel, Tableau, or Power BI for executive visibility and accountability
  • Experience working with Archer, ServiceNow GRC, Jira, and Contrast, related governance processes
  • Strong experience coordinating priorities with Product Owners and application teams to align security remediation with delivery timelines
  • Good understanding of Windows and Linux patching fundamentals, including patch failures, reboot dependencies, and baseline drift
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
  • Experience with Java application vulnerabilities, including secure coding gaps and configuration weaknesses
  • Understanding of third-party and open-source library risks, including CVEs, exploitability, and transitive dependencies
  • Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
  • Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
