About The Position

Curative is building the future of health insurance with a first-of-its-kind employer-based plan designed to remove financial barriers and make care truly accessible: one monthly premium with $0 copays and $0 deductibles. Backed by our recent $150M in Series B funding and valuation at $1.275B, Curative is scaling rapidly and investing in AI-powered service, deeper member engagement, and a smart network designed for today’s workforce. Our north star guides everything we do: healthcare only works when people can actually use it. That belief drives every decision we make: from how we design our plan, support our members, to how we collaborate as a team. If you want to do meaningful work with a team that moves fast, experiments boldly, and cares deeply, Curative is the place to do it. We’re growing fast and looking for teammates who want to help transform health insurance for the better.

Requirements

  • 5+ years shipping production software.
  • Real fluency in Python and TypeScript.
  • Experience with Next.js and React.
  • Experience with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy.
  • Experience owning a real public-facing website, including server-side rendering, static generation, CDN and cache behavior, Core Web Vitals, SEO fundamentals, redirects, and accessibility.
  • Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals, including reading query plans, spotting N+1 issues, understanding migration safety at scale, and reasoning about joins and aggregations.
  • Analytics and experimentation literacy, including instrumenting a funnel, trusting data for decision-making, and understanding A/B testing limitations.
  • A correctness mindset, building systems where output must add up and using checks, invariants, and audit trails.
  • Systems thinking ability, including sketching architecture, identifying failure modes, and reasoning about blast radius.
  • Production cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or equivalent) and experience being on-call.
  • Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders, running working sessions, extracting requirements, and discussing campaign performance and schema design.
  • Product and design taste, caring about customer-facing elements and conversing with designers/brand leads.
  • An interest in growth as a discipline.
  • Sharp written communication skills for prompts, specs, and PR descriptions.
  • Experience using AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent as a primary development tool.
  • Understanding of how to structure prompts, split work into subagents, and prevent AI output from drifting.
  • Discipline to review every AI-generated diff and not merge on 'vibes'.
  • Treating AI as a junior engineer needing supervision.
  • Enjoyment in building tooling to make AI more effective (skills, evals, fixtures, integrations).
  • Viewing AI leverage as a means to own a product surface and stay close to users, not just to stay heads-down in a terminal.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare, insurance, or marketing-technology experience.
  • A portfolio of AI-assisted work (skills, agents, automations).
  • Experience being the single owner of a non-trivial service in production.
  • Experience with a headless CMS and supporting a non-engineering team that owns its content model.
  • Growth or marketing engineering experience (landing pages, lifecycle/campaign tooling, paid acquisition/ad-platform data, attribution, CRM/marketing-automation integration, SEO/content platform work).
  • Experience with document and file ingestion at scale (parsing spreadsheets, PDFs, email attachments into structured data).
  • Experience with sales or CRM systems, especially replacing one.

Responsibilities

  • Be the technical owner of our growth platform: the software that turns a stranger on curative.com into a bound group.
  • Own the entire funnel: the public marketing site and the CMS the marketing team publishes from, the forms and tracking that capture a lead, and the underwriting and quoting system that turns an employer’s RFP into a priced proposal and a closed deal.
  • Sit at the intersection of engineering, marketing, and sales, embedded with the people who use the software.
  • Join marketing team’s planning sessions to address campaign issues and ship fixes within the same week.
  • Work with sales and underwriting teams on the other end of the funnel.
  • Monitor key metrics: traffic, conversion by source and page, form completion, quote turnaround, win rate.
  • Build AI agents and automation to take work off people’s plates, such as agents that read inbound RFPs into structured records, draft and route content, and automate manual campaign and sales-ops processes.
  • Be the single technical point of responsibility for these services.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and product stakeholders to turn their workflows into shipped software.
  • Set the architectural direction for the growth platform.
  • Own production for the growth platform.
  • Represent the platform in cross-team discussions.
  • Own the top of the funnel: curative.com (Next.js site on Vercel, statically generated from Strapi), focusing on speed, SEO, accessibility, and uptime.
  • Own the bottom of the funnel: underwriting and group lifecycle platform, from inbound RFP through pricing to a closed deal, replacing Salesforce and MuleSoft.
  • Support marketing’s paid campaigns by managing ad targeting, audience data, tracking, and conversion signals.
  • Develop AI leverage through tooling, prompts, skills, and evals to enable one engineer to manage a large surface area.
  • Extend existing AI agents on the Claude API and build new ones for RFP intake and sales-ops automation.
  • Manage conversion and experimentation, including tracking, data trust, and A/B testing.
  • Oversee lead capture: forms, validation, bot defense, routing, and attribution.
  • Manage production infrastructure, deploys (Vercel and Kubernetes), observability, on-call, and costs.
  • Track and analyze funnel metrics: conversion by source, lead-to-RFP rate, time-to-quote, win and loss by segment and broker.
  • Manage integrations with marketing and sales tooling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and manage the roadmap, acting as the engineer in the room with marketers, sales reps, and underwriters.
  • Understand the funnel domain well enough to write context-rich prompts within 90 days.
