About The Position

This opportunity is with a leading aerospace and defense organization supporting critical aviation systems used across the globe. You will be working on mission-critical applications that process high volumes of aviation data and directly support airline operations and global travel infrastructure. These systems must be highly reliable and always available, making this a great environment for engineers coming from structured, enterprise or banking backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on Java development experience
• Experience working in enterprise environments (banking, financial services, or similar strongly preferred)
• Experience supporting production-level applications
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work on-site in Annapolis, MD four days per week
• Local to Annapolis, MD

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to messaging technologies: JMS, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ
• Experience integrating Java applications with messaging systems
• Linux/Unix experience
• Agile environment experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Work on high-throughput, highly reliable systems
• Assist with application upgrades and modernization efforts
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on core platform improvements
• Participate across the full SDLC
