The Cape platform offers customers end-to-end control of their digital identity, prioritizing resiliency, privacy, and security. The company is transforming the mobile phone experience, from signup to daily use, with a focus on privacy implications. Customers are protected across the entire communications stack, from the mobile device through the infrastructure to the core network. As an iOS Engineer, the mission is to build the definitive application for private mobile communication, going beyond basic onboarding and payment functions. The mobile application is crucial for building user trust and protecting digital lives. The role involves owning the entire feature lifecycle, from architectural design to App Store launch, utilizing Swift and SwiftUI to address complex challenges in security and cryptography for protecting personal information, account data, and communication traffic. This role offers the opportunity to ship the product that actualizes Cape's promise of privacy, with high-impact daily tasks ranging from developing capabilities to prevent targeting of soldiers to architecting systems to prevent financial fraud.

Requirements

• 4+ years of iOS software development experience.
• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or similar field.
• Proficiency in Swift and a strong foundational understanding of the iOS ecosystem (architecture, app lifecycle, etc.).
• Professional experience with SwiftUI is preferred, but a deep appreciation for building modern user interfaces is essential.
• Experience with Swift Concurrency (async/await) for building responsive, performant applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to iterate quickly with teammates, incorporating feedback and holding a high bar for quality.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with frameworks like Combine or Core Data.
• Hands-on experience with the end-to-end App Store release process.
• Knowledge of cryptography, secure enclave, or cellular technologies (eSIM, 4G, 5G).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the mobile product lifecycle, from conceptualization, through design & development, all the way to launch.
• Maintain high coding standards through the development of guidelines, active participation in code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing among your team.
• Champion the security, performance, and stability of our applications. You will implement and oversee robust testing, monitoring, and release processes to guarantee a seamless and trustworthy user experience.
• Actively improve user workflows by collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless experiences across product boundaries and a cohesive user experience.
