About The Position
The iOS Keyboard team is responsible for building the keyboard and text editing experience for iPhone & iPad, including features like QuickType, QuickPath, AutoFill, and Writing Tools. They also develop text input technologies across all Apple platforms (iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS), including frameworks and developer APIs. The team is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the next generation of Keyboard and Text Input experiences, focusing on intuitiveness, personalization, and inclusivity across various languages and cultures, while prioritizing user privacy. This role involves collaborating with design and engineering teams to innovate and deliver impactful features that combine user interfaces with machine learning technologies. Responsibilities include software design exploration, implementation, and maintenance of cross-platform frameworks and applications, developing production-quality software through iterative cycles, and partnering with various Apple teams (Accessibility, Design, Hardware, Localization, NLP, Privacy, etc.).
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in building iOS apps using Apple's UI frameworks
- Experience with Objective-C, C, Swift, or C++ programming
- Exposure to modern software development standard methodologies, such as source control, unit testing, and debugging
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion to improve Apple's products
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in building iOS apps using Apple's UI frameworks
- Ability to effectively contribute to several concurrent projects
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
