About The Position

Speechify's mission is to ensure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to transform reading materials into audio, enhancing reading speed, comprehension, and retention. The company's text-to-speech offerings include iOS, Android, Mac apps, a Chrome Extension, and a Web App. Speechify has been recognized by Google as the Chrome Extension of the Year and by Apple as its App of the Day. Currently, nearly 200 employees globally operate in a fully distributed setting, with no physical offices. The team comprises frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and professionals from top tech companies and academic institutions. Due to the growth of the iOS app, its position as the #18 productivity app in the App Store, and its recent Apple 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity, Speechify is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer. This role is crucial for supporting the expanding user base and contributing to new projects that advance Speechify's mission. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, thrive in fast-paced environments, be passionate about product decisions, and have a proven ability to build exceptional user experiences. Requirements

Experience working on products that scaled to a large user base
Track record of working on various products from inception to decent traction
Responsibility for engineering the product
Customer obsession: constantly obsessed about providing the best possible experience for customers
Product thinking: make thoughtful decisions about product evolution and support internal teams and designers
Speed: work quickly to generate ideas and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time
Focus: ability to engage or be heads down in a high-growth startup environment
Swift Programming Language
SwiftUI experience
Experience in Multithreading Programming
Working with CI/CD infrastructure
Experience with Fastlane
SOLID principles, the ability to write every single class according to SOLID
Experience with Git and understanding of different Git strategies

Responsibilities

Lead key engineering and product decisions
Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app
Work within a dedicated product team
Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture
