If so, APL is looking for someone like you to join the Software Engineering and Data Transformation Group supporting the Strategic Deterrence Mission Area as a Summer Software Engineering Intern! We are seeking a dynamic, technically curious, and results-oriented software engineer to develop and deploy high-quality, resilient, and scalable software solutions that meet and exceed end user needs. The Software Engineering and Data Transformation Group (KBE), within the Strategic Deterrence Mission Area of the Force Projection Sector, supports the data architecture, collection, processing, and distribution required to evaluate Strategic Weapon Systems. Our team works across the full software engineering lifecycle in complex security and operational environments, partnering with a variety of sponsors. We value collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement as we solve challenging, mission-driven problems. As a member of our team you will gain experience working with commercial and open-source software and technologies, using relational database software, including Microsoft SQL Server, designing, developing and implementing software as a full-stack engineer on a large software development team, engaging in exploratory research into new technologies and aiding us in developing novel software solutions, and working closely with other developers, systems engineers, and end users to understand system needs and develop overall solutions that will meet these needs.

Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or other related discipline.
Strong desire to learn and explore new software development technologies.
Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Prior programming experience.
Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy high-quality, resilient, and scalable software solutions.
