About The Position

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success. The Software Engineer Internship will assist with the development, auditing, and documentation of key processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
  • Applicant must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information, as Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software
  • Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines to meet project requirements
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Perform hardware/software integration & testing on flight simulator training devices
  • Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements
  • Work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business
  • Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
