Software Engineer, Integrations

Cohere

About The Position

The Data Abstractions & Tools team is responsible for how users bring their data into the North platform and put it to work. This includes owning the systems for uploading, organizing, and sharing files and knowledge bases, the framework for extending agents with skills and third-party integrations, and the data-sync pipeline that connects enterprise data sources to North's agents. This role specifically owns the integration pipeline end-to-end, which involves adding new integrations to the platform, assisting other engineers in doing the same, and establishing a repeatable process for this. The role also includes creating evaluations and tests to ensure integrations function correctly and continue to do so as the platform evolves.

Requirements

  • Shipped production code and are comfortable building integrations against external APIs.
  • Background in evaluating agentic systems (ideal), or at minimum know what an eval is and are comfortable with prompt engineering and tool-description tuning.
  • Excel in fast-paced environments and can execute while priorities are a moving target.
  • High agency: learn quickly and drive change without waiting for perfect instructions.
  • Owned things end-to-end before and care about the quality of what ships, not just that it shipped.
  • Enjoy helping other engineers succeed, not just shipping your own work.

Responsibilities

  • Build new integrations (tools) on the North agentic platform, and maintain the ones already in production.
  • Own the integration pipeline: the process for adding a new tool, from design to shipping to ongoing maintenance.
  • Help other engineers add integrations of their own, and raise the bar for how the team does it.
  • Create evals and tests to make sure integrations work as expected and alert on regressions.
  • Tune tool descriptions to improve performance based on feedback and evals.
  • Use AI actively in your work, while staying accountable for the quality and reliability of what you ship.

Benefits

  • A weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in your local currency for lunch.
  • Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget for mental health.
  • RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
  • 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.
  • Annual enrichment benefits: Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.
  • Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
  • 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days!)
  • Budget for traveling to other offices if you are remote, plus an annual company offsite.
  • A daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events (for those in the office).
  • A co-working benefit so you can work alongside others in your city (for those not near an office).
  • A $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.
