About The Position

Temper is building an agentic integration platform for the real economy. Specialized AI agents handle the full lifecycle of integrations: gathering requirements in plain English, generating integration code, testing, deploying, and maintaining them in production. The platform aims to solve the fundamental problem of connectivity in the physical economy where systems were not designed to communicate with each other, leading to manual, custom integrations. Temper has paying enterprise customers and real integrations running in production, with demand exceeding capacity. The company has raised over $8M in seed funding and has a small, early team.

Requirements

Experience running Kubernetes in production (operating, scaling, debugging).
Experience owning infrastructure or a platform end-to-end (shipping, scaling, maintaining).
Experience operating in fast, ambiguous, under-resourced environments (3+ years at a high-growth startup).
Comfortable running multiple AI agents in parallel.
Ability to pick up new things fast.
Coding with AI agents and leaning into them.
Holding strong technical opinions and changing them when evidence suggests so.
Ability to move independently.
Desire to do the best work of your career.
Desire for a true early-stage, in-person experience in San Francisco: fast-paced, high intensity.

Nice To Haves

Experience with TypeScript, Bun, Effect-TS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, AWS.

Responsibilities

Own the infrastructure and platform layer end-to-end.
Build agent orchestration across multiple specialized agents coordinating complex workflows.
Develop platform engineering capabilities, creating a mini Vercel for integration runtime with durable execution.
Create self-healing systems that detect failures and recover autonomously.
Build a knowledge base of undocumented systems that becomes smarter with every integration.
Set engineering patterns for future infrastructure hires.
Help recruit the infrastructure team from your network.
Grow into leading the infrastructure domain within a year.
