About The Position

As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through deployment, ensuring high-quality code and timely delivery. You will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the company’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and customer-focused technology solutions. Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position. Our team develops the Tire & Battery iPad application used by Sam’s Club associates to enhance member service in Tire & Battery Centers. We deliver intuitive, high-performance solutions that streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and elevate the member experience. Emphasizing collaboration and continuous improvement, we leverage technology to drive impactful results across numerous clubs. The team prioritizes technical excellence in software development, DevOps, and solution design to build scalable, reliable applications that support business objectives and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding languages such as React Native, JAVA, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
  • Expertise in debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation scripting.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure
  • Skilled in test case creation, execution, and defect management to ensure high-quality software.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead small engineering teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, project management, and user experience teams to develop high-level designs for small to medium projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve business and production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
  • Translate project requirements into technical solutions, conduct coding, unit testing, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Support business users by providing technical guidance and identifying sustainable solutions.
  • Mentor and guide small engineering teams, including offshore associates, to meet project goals.
  • Implement and maintain coding standards, automation scripts, and telemetry features.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and evaluate change requests.
