This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in enterprise monitoring, observability, infrastructure operations, or a related technical environment
  • JIRA: Ability to create, update, track, and close tickets, Familiarity with ticket lifecycle management
  • Develop and execute basic and advanced searches
  • Interpret and communicate search results
  • Build dashboards and visualizations
  • Understand Splunk architecture (inputs, hosts, indexes)
  • Support Splunk agent/software deployment on hosts
  • Install and configure Dynatrace (e.g., IMON)
  • Create host groups, management zones, dashboards, and alerts
  • Support metric/event-based monitoring
  • Knowledge of maintenance windows and operational practices
  • Familiarity with RISE processes and cross-team remediation
  • Experience supporting audit deliverables
  • Understanding of risk vulnerabilities and CVEs, including prioritization and remediation support
  • Understanding of host environments (bare metal vs. application hosts)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: Splunk data ingestion from containers & Dynatrace container monitoring capabilities
  • Familiarity with internal tools and frameworks: MRD (Monitoring Requirements Document – MIPS portal),AppHq, RTO and UCAL designations

Responsibilities

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
  • Monitoring – The ability to understand the performance and availability for services, applications and infrastructure components. (What is going on?)
  • Observability – The context to why an application is experiencing a problem. (Why is it going on?)
